This feature article is all about how the fast growth of number and variety of mobile phones demands new skills from the digital forensic examiner


A great number of the mobile phones used worldwide every second require special knowledge and skills from digital forensic practitioners. More often it is
not enough to be an experienced practitioner in computer forensics to understand all the peculiarities and difficulties of mobile forensics. In this article we describe some of the more common technical problems encountered by practitioners in mobile forensics.

Market share of the end user desktop systems is divided between three majors, MS Windows, OS X from Apple Inc and OS Linux variations. That’s the opposite way round to the mobile devices OS. Each year brings to life a new major product, while the previous year leaders can easily lose their positions.
