Understanding Cyber Skills

Understanding Cyber Skills

I was asked by a client recently to look at the additional skills required by existing staff to deal with the emerging cyber requirement and how these skills might be taught and learned. This did not turn out to be a simple task, as it required that in order to identify any gap in skills I first had to identify the core skills for cyber.

Fortunately, some years prior I had been in discussion with the British Computer Society looking at a similar requirement for information assurance skills and this provided some base material to draw on. That being said this did present another conundrum as to what the difference is between Information Assurance and Cyber Security. That particular piece of research will be the subject of a future article.
