This featured article is all about how Digital Forensics plays an increasingly important role within society as the approach to the identification of criminal and cybercriminal activities. It is however widely known that a combination of the time taken to undertake a forensic investigation, the volume of data to be analysed and the number of cases to be processed are all significantly resulting in an ever?growing backlog of investigations and mounting costs. Changing technology warrants an intelligent approach in bringing forth the digital evidence from different devices. Wide varieties of devices are available ranging from personal computers, tablets, mobile phones and so on. Not to speak of the wide variety of applications and modes of communication. Recognizing these advances and capabilities, it is conceivable that these devices could be used to commit or assist in criminal activities.
