Focus on the SOC

With the reality beginning to sink in that failing to address security properly can result in devastating affects on business, it’s not surprising to discover that a lack of budget and resources, when it comes to IT security, are regular problems within many organisations. When hit with the cold, harsh truth that this is not likely to be a rapid fix, the big question we are now facing is how to work around the boundaries presented by having a small security team. This article will discuss firstly how to establish the routines of a highly effective security professional within these limits and secondly, how SIEM can be used to help. Finally, it will look at the inevitability of experiencing a data breach and how to keep cool when the situation arises.
