Accelerating Child Exploitation Investigations Using AI

As technology has become the “go-to” platform for initiating child exploitation crimes, child sexual abuse has risen significantly over the past decade. A case

may involve thousands of images, multiple chats, social media, and/or encrypted storage devices, leading to an overwhelming volume of evidence and case backlog. In 2017, Gartner predicted that there would

be more than 20 billion connected devices by 2020 [1], not including over five billion smartphones. Add to that volume the amount of data people use with their choice of more than five million mobile applications, and you can better understand the terabytes and petabytes of data you have to examine in larger cases. Can artificial intelligence in examination tools help you narrow results faster?
